Universal Reward Protocol – A Blockchain Reward Solution for Retailers.

Overview:

Universal reward protocol is providing a blockchain solution to the retailers to reward their customers whenever they carry out any type of shopping behaviour. The rewards will be given to the customers in the form of URP tokens. Physical retailers today cannot gain the information about their potential prospects and thus are enable to increase the conversion rate. They are not able to enhance the customer experience. Shoppers are also not able to get the personalized experience in such retail stores and the loyalty programs conducted often uses the customer’s data for other purposes. This project is aiming to solve the problem by connecting the retailers and consumers directly.

Universal Reward Protocol:

URP provides a platform where retailers can reward the customers for their shopping behaviour and also for visiting their store. Customers who provide their data on this platform to the retailers get URP tokens as a reward and the information can be used by the retailer to meet the customer’s needs and demands. The information provided by the customers is exchanged through a transparent platform which helps them to have a complete control over their data.

How this will Work?

• Retailers will design the campaigns on this platform and decide the criteria to be fulfilled by the customer to earn the reward.
• The campaign when published on the platform will be accessible to the users.
• The customer will give their data for this campaign and will fulfill the criteria.
• The smart contract records the data and releases the reward to the customer once the criteria is fulfilled.
• The reward tokens received by the customer can be redeemed with the same retailer or it can be also used with other retailers available on the platform.

Retailer-side Components:

The campaign manager will be the link to connect the retailers and the customers. There will be two types of campaign manager in this platform:
• The Reward campaign manager: This manages the new reward campaigns and their criteria. It will also the analyse the existing campaigns to calculate the performance.
• The Redemption Campaign Manager: This manages and create new redemption offers where the customers use their tokens to buy goods and services from the retailer.

Shopper-side Components:

The interface through which the shoppers will interact with the retailers consisit of three components:
• Campaign search: This will be used to inform the customers through which behaviours they will rewarded and which all offers can be redeemed.
• Wallet component: This will be used to store the URP tokens. Users will be able to check the number of tokens they have and also the past records of rewards.
• Privacy Manager: This helps the user to control the data they share. They can decide upto which extend they wish to share their information and to which retailer.

He has done MSc. Ecole Polytechnique and Master in Entrepreneurship from UC Berkeley. His expertise includes strong technical skills such as machine learning, big data, web & mobile development, Blockchain and indoor localization. He has worked as a software developer in a Palo Alto startup (Producteev by Jive) and has developed algorithms for management solutions at a private jet company.

Louis Millon - CTO and Co-founder
He has done MSc. Ecole Polytechnique and Master of Engineering IEOR from UC Berkeley. He previously worked in Parrot and Polyconsiel as a technical consultant.
