China May Try to Block All Bitcoin Transactions in the Country
The Chinese authorities may be moving toward a broad clampdown on Bitcoin, including peer-to-peer (P2P) exchanges and over-the-counter (OTC) trading platforms. Using the Great Firewall to block IP addresses, access to foreign bitcoin exchanges could be blocked and the Bitcoin transaction network could be disrupted within the country.

Ethereum's Next Hard Fork Is Now Officially Being Tested
Byzantium, the first part of ethereum's long-awaited Metropolis upgrade, has officially launched on testnet. The simulated hard fork was executed this morning on Ropsten, the ethereum testing environment, and is expected to run for a few weeks of troubleshooting before the fork occurs on the main ethereum blockchain, currently the world's second-largest by market capitalization.

JPMorgan handles bitcoin-related trades for clients despite CEO warning
JPMorgan Chase & Co (JPM.N) has been routing customer orders for bitcoin-related instruments, a spokesman said on Monday, despite the bank’s chief executive’s calling the crypto currency “a fraud.”

Bitpay recently partnered with Aliant Payment Systems, which is a company that provides online merchant services for credit card processing. Aliant plans to offer its customer base the option of transacting using bitcoin via Bitpay. This brings Bitcoin another step toward garnering more mainstream adoption.

Bitcoin Price Fails to Maintain $4,000 Level as Sell Pressure Grows
Today could prove to be a rather interesting day for the Bitcoin price once again. After successfully breaching the US$4,000 resistance yesterday, the price didn’t succeed in maintaining its momentum. Right now, the Bitcoin price is making a second attempt to remain above US$4,000 as we speak. The big question is whether or not this effort will be successful for more than a few hours.

Ethereum Classic Price Goes Back to Double Digits Thanks to Chinese Trading Volume
The cryptocurrency power rankings get shaken up on a regular basis these days. While Bitcoin is still the dominant market leader, things are not necessarily evolving in the right direction for some altcoins. Ethereum Classic is showing some big gains over the past 24 hours considering all other currencies are still showing plenty of volatility right now. The Ethereum Classic price is heading back to $11.5, which is a positive start.

Regulations Push Chinese Bitcoin Volumes to OTC and Neighboring Countries
Following the regulatory crackdown in China, bitcoin’s price has climbed back up 30 percent over the $4K zone since the market’s nosedive last Friday. Now China’s bitcoin trade volume has dropped to the fourth position globally as Japan has taken the reigns over the past two days. Chinese traders have once again taken trading to the ‘streets’ and have also migrated business to Hong Kong and Korean exchanges.

Vitalik Buterin: Ethereum Will Have Visa-Scale Transaction Capacity in 2 Years
Vitalik Buterin, speaking at TechCrunch Disrupt 2017, indicated that the platform has the capacity to change much of what is known about data and security. His comments included a strong indication that Ethereum will have the transactional power to equal Visa in the next two years.
