Burstcoin Network Large Scale Attack #4 - is it over yet?

Hi All,

Its starting to look like the guys over at http://www.burst-team.us have started to make good progress on blocking this attack. This is a good move for the whole community and with the quick work of fusecavator and daWallets efforts they have managed to get the chains to reach consensus again.

Below you can find the announcement on burst-team.us

Below is the current state of the chain.

They released an emergency hotfix (1.2.9b) this hot-fix limited the amount of unconfirmed transactions per node. however you couldn't mine on this edition of the wallet or send transactions due to an issue.

Shortly after another version of the 1.2.8 wallet was released that blacklisted account ids which meant any node forging could potentially blacklist any account on the block-chain however it would only stop the transaction going through if that node forged the block.

A few revisions later the new release candidate was released (1.2.8 v4) this one removed the blacklist feature and changed the way unconfirmed transactions are sorted before going into memory and limiting to 400. Since that release the networks been doing quite well.

During these attacks some people have used them in order to shift blame on members of the community as per usual. in the latest post on burst nation they posted up what is apparently "Proof" of ddos attacks and were basically screenshotted messages taken out of context on a chat channel for the decentralized coin that were posted due to the owner of Burst Nation (Adam Guerbeuz) threatening my job and home life. which i guess you could call human nature from people seeing that happen to a friend.

None of this activity has been legitimized with factual evidence though such as proper logs. its also to note that shortly after i got threatened about my job and home-life my burst pool started getting DDOSed which in the prior weeks was ranked number 1 in burst-coin.

I'm hoping to get that back operational when the network sorts itself out

I still have the steemit post i didn't do a week back about the threat i received however if users want to see that posted let me know in the comments and ill put that out next.
