Why, Yes I Did

I Bought a second Bitfi Wallet

Why you ask, well it goes like this... the world is changing fast, there is social unrest all over the world, and we just don't know what's heading our way next. Severe weather, wild fires, earthquakes, geopolitical stress and so many other chaotic events swoop down catching most people by surprise.

As example of the weather becoming more intense, I live on the shore and the instant cyclones are becoming a new but continuing event. They are also growing in intensity, the last one reaching up to category 2 hurricane force winds and rain or hail. Here is one such instant cyclone capsizing smaller vessels and floundering a much larger vessel:

But they sweep in so fast there is no warning, the last one that struck ‪at 3:00 am‬ felt like it would take the house off the foundation. This is but one growing concern, but if bugging out (some refer to as evacuation) is necessary, I want added security of my crypto holdings.

So the strategy has been to have multiple safes in various locations that have food, ammo, firearms, silver and gold... so why not cold storage wallets, but all with the same access keys. This way I can also be overseas and my family is still protected at home as well as myself in a foreign land.

Caveat

Yes you can buy one and then if lost or stolen, get another.... but how do you know you will be able to? Say for instance that there is an economical crash (got one pending and other countries already had/have one). How will you get it when you need or want another unit? If you have one in a few locations, they need not be activated or used, but they are waiting in case of emergency.

I used to use the paper wallets, as well as Ledger Nano S, but now these Bitfi wallets makes it easy for even crypto novices (the Wife for one), to access the funds if needed (provided they have the seed and phrase). We practice it daily away from cellphones, TV's, etc. and we don't have an Alexa type device to listen in either... it has become a fun game as to who approaches who first to wispier the seed and phrase.

Future Inevitabilities

And folks everyone should be thinking of the future... not just tomorrow, but way ahead. As example your will. The Bitfi makes for an easy will tool, to pass on your accumulated wealth privately as well as securely... and most importantly, OUT OF PROBATE! I have been through that charade and theft by the lawyers, courts and government... well my children and theirs will not be facing that. So there is one of my safes in each of their homes (bug out plan 101), that have a Bitfi (and other assets and supplies) in each. They have access to the Bitfi, but not the seed and phrase... that is in the will. They have the security of gaining that upon the reading of the will, but it does not incur a probate event, the assets are theirs, passed on seamlessly and out of the reach of the thieves.

How would you use yours?

What other ideas have you thought of to keep your (crypto) assets safe and out of the hands of governments and lawyers (even nursing homes, yes more experience with this as well)?

I was even luckier

I saw right now there was even a sale on the Bitfi Wallet for only $120 instead of $200, by November. So I picked up another one... you just never know when you may need it.
