Stellar is a platform that can be used to send money across international boundaries. It connects banks, payment systems, and the people to move money quickly, reliably, and at very low costs. The currency of Stellar Blockchain platform is lumen (XLM), like a bitcoin. The number of lumens created at genesis block (block height of zero) was 100 billion. Every year, there is a 1% inflation rate and each week the protocol distributes lumens to the holder who gets over 0.05% of the votes from other accounts in the network.
