Cold Wallet, Hot Wallet... Which is best? Safest?

Hello fellow Steemians!

Being a noob in the world of Cryptocurrency, I come across so many terms that I don't understand either because of the context they are being used or at all since I've never heard them before. I get the concept of a "wallet" but then you add "cold" or "hot" I start to wonder what the temperature of a wallet has to do with crypto, is it suddenly a sandwich in the deli case!?
So, online I go to lookup a cold wallet which spawned several results on Amazon, such as this one from Trezor https://www.amazon.com/Trezor-bitcoin-wallet-Black/dp/B00R6MKDDE/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1531263906&sr=8-6&keywords=cold+wallet&dpID=51JSDcjvwoL&preST=SX300_QL70&dpSrc=srch

How do you pick which one is the most reliable and best at keeping your information secure? Are some easier to use than others or are they basically the same? Are there pros and cons to using a cold wallet vs. hot wallet?

I plan to use one to purchase Ethereum and eventually Bitcoin. Any suggestions or words of experience are appreciated.

Have a fantastic day!! :)
