Discussion of some selected cryptocurrencies that performed very well over the past 7 days

The screenshot from LiveCoinWatch shows the first 7 cryptocurrenies that have had positive 7-days % change, ordered in descending. I'd like to point out that the start of this 7 days period, January 7, is 3 days after Binanace - one of the largest cryptocurrency exchanges in the world - suspended registering of new users (except when it temporarily opened it on Januaty 8 for about an hour to add to some 240,000 users). Also, January 7 is only one day before the highly popular cryptocurrency price tracker CoinMarketCap removed several South Korean exchanges from its listings on January 8. Therefore, the choice of January 7 as beginning date of our past 7-days window period to see how some selected cryptocurrenies have been doing is a very good choice. During this period, these cryptos have had positive price % changes and have had my particular attention due to their having support and backing from many in the crypto-sphere community.

Many of us have read or heard the exclusion of cryptocurrency prices from South Korean exchanges in the calculations of prices in CoinMarketCap data resulted in significant drops of prices as much as 30% for Ripple (XRP). And this has caused a perceived market crash panick and led to huge sell off of cryptos which exacerbated the situation by further having prices to drop. Also, let's not forget the suspension of new users registration at Binance had already been playing a role in slowing down trading and was seeing prices to drop. So, these two scenarios have given us the opportunity to see the really strong cryptocurrencies that stood the challneges of the time. For them to sustain this drastic conditions, I thought, they've got to be very good ones.

From the screenshot please note that NEO has had +50%, 0x 38%, VeChain 32%, EOS 27% and OmiseGo 4%.

Although the remaining last 5 (from Melon to Aragon) are shown here as having negative 7-days change, I have seen them to have positive changes in the Crypto app of Investing.com. That's weird, but it could be that the 7-day cutt-off dates' times might be different between LiveCoinWatch and Investing.com.

Therefore, considering the fact that these coins' performance has been impressive while most of the other cryptocurrencies' prices have been sliding down, I think we need to appreciate their resistance to price drops and study them closer and maybe consider investing in some selected ones. As far as I'm concerned, NEO should definitely be one without needing further research. I was surprised Cardano couldn't hold up, but VeChain, which is one of cryptos in my holding bag, did very well over this 7 days period.

Please have your comments on my opinions.Screenshot_2018-01-14-12-04-52.png
