The top-ten coins are in the red today, with the exception of Stellar (XLM). This means coins like Ripple (XRP) are down Tuesday. Why, though? Is there negative Ripple news floating around the crypto space? Or is XRP down because of the overall crypto market decline?

Let’s see what we can find out. First, however, let’s look at Ripple price news.
Ripple (XRP) Daily Chart

Ripple (XRP) is currently selling for $0.671403. This puts XRP down 1.34% in the past twenty-four hours.

Ripple (XRP) is ranked below both Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) in terms of market capitalization.
Ripple Price Last Week

Before the weekend rolled around, Ripple (XRP) was down on Friday, May 18 as well. At one point during the day, the coin was down 2.66%.

Ripple News | May 22, 2018

Last week, there was some major Ripple news announced. Perhaps the most notable was the new Xpring project. This initiative was announced both on social media, and at Consensus 2018. It’s likely this week will be a bit more calm, in terms of the amount of Ripple news we see floating around. That said, there was some Ripple news announced yesterday that the masses may find interesting.

According to various reports, on Monday, Ripple (XRP) was listed on the new LMAX cryptocurrency exchange. This is significant Ripple news considering the LMAX crypto exchange is one of the largest exchanges in the world, and by moving into the crypto sector, it’s likely good things will happen to those close to the move.

According to David Mercer, CEO of LMAX Digital, the crypto exchange was created due to the overwhelming demand from clients. As of right now, and we’re not sure if more trading pairs will be added, but the LMAX crypto exchange will feature trading pairs for the following: Ripple (XRP), Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Litecoin (LTC), and Bitcoin Cash (BCH).

Furthermore, it has been announced that TapJets, an American aviation company, has plans to asses the potential for adding Ripple (XRP) to its payment options. The news first broke of this potential move last week, when TapJets held a Twitter poll on the matter, which lasted three days. There was overwhelming support for Ripple (XRP).

Our #cryptocurrency friends asked for their project to be included in our payment methods. Our CEO @EugeneKesselman promised a quick poll from the product team so here it is #XVG vs #XRP vs #LTC what should be our next move #FLYTAPJETS

Followup on our efforts: I had a call with @miguelvias great guy and we are making progress. Contacted @krakenfx #XRP exchange to see if they are able to assist. Things are looking good for #XRP with help of @Ripple. Will continue to provide updates on our progress.

The Ripple News Takeaway

The Ripple community has been fairly quiet on social media today. Perhaps XRP enthusiasts are still recovering from Consensus 2018. Either way, keep an eye on Ripple (XRP) for the remainder of the week, as there could be more Ripple news that surfaces.
