Waves platform has many popular traded coins today including zcash, bitcoin, and litecoin to name a few. As well as businesses can create and distribute their own tokens on the platform as well. A user must safe guard your key because like steem there is no way to reset the password.
As for privacy and the governement, I say let the government be snoops all they want, lets just make them accountable for that. Lets put the government on the blockchain, and have every activity that a government worker orchestrates recorded, and transparently readable and in stone record for the public to view at all and anytime. Lets bring transparency to a whole other level. I do agree we need privacy in our lives but it should not be the place of the government to have all the privacy and the people in slaved in a system. Being open and honest and standing by ones morals and values will prove to be challenging as not everyone can or will agree, however hiding the truth from disagreeing opinions only compounds the problem and makes it worse later. Being transparent makes it possible for discussion and negotiation to take place. Which brings about change and change is what we need.
