CRYPTO NEVER SLEEPS..."THERE IS NO PEACE ON EARTH, I SAID"

Having fallen asleep and awoken to the sound of Christmas carols this Sunday USA Christmas Eve morning….I immediately wondered how the crypto markets fared overnight... bear in mind...I had sworn off looking at my CoinTracking portfolio balance until the holiday was past (okay…I did cheat three times so far)….but unable to totally divorce myself from my new found hobby...I turned to the Steemit blog instead…

It was here I was reminded about the ongoing civil war between factions for and against a certain Steemit member’s success attracting followers and as a result…reaping significant financial rewards based on Steemit’s incentive system…

Now…I admit despite having been a member for multiple months and attempting to better understand how all this upvoting…flagging…rewards…steem power….steem dollars…influence works….I don’t really get it…but…what I do get is human interaction…

And like any “free” system that allows counter arguments to be heard…it often becomes a “battle”…forces are formed…each side labels the other as “evil”…emotions take over…lines are drawn…

“And in despair I bowed my head;
"There is no peace on earth," I said;
"For hate is strong,
And mocks the song
Of peace on earth, good-will to men!"’

(If something is already in quotes…does one double quote?)

"I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day" is a Christmas carol based on the 1863 poem "Christmas Bells" by American poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow…thank you to “Wikipedia“ for providing me this….

The following are the original words of Longfellow's poem:

I heard the bells on Christmas Day
Their old, familiar carols play,

and wild and sweet
The words repeat
Of peace on earth, good-will to men!

And thought how, as the day had come,
The belfries of all Christendom

Had rolled along
The unbroken song
Of peace on earth, good-will to men!

Till ringing, singing on its way,
The world revolved from night to day,

A voice, a chime,
A chant sublime
Of peace on earth, good-will to men!

Then from each black, accursed mouth
The cannon thundered in the South,

And with the sound
The carols drowned
Of peace on earth, good-will to men!

It was as if an earthquake rent
The hearth-stones of a continent,

And made forlorn
The households born
Of peace on earth, good-will to men!

And in despair I bowed my head;
"There is no peace on earth," I said;

"For hate is strong,
And mocks the song
Of peace on earth, good-will to men!"

Then pealed the bells more loud and deep:
"God is not dead, nor doth He sleep;

The Wrong shall fail,
The Right prevail,
With peace on earth, good-will to men."

Fortunately…as best I am aware…this blogging battle has not lead to any deaths…although I guess in a video game sense…multiple members have been “powered down” to near nonexistence….and unfortunately…despite what this time of year is supposed to represent for those of us steeped in the Christmas holiday tradition…”Crypto Never Sleeps…There is no peace on earth, I said;”…..
