If you find yourself suddenly interested in XRP...

Then you might be a profit chaser. Nothing wrong with that, but try to think about what's happening. A currency that was created, entirely out of thin air, and then put into escrow by the creators to give it a potential for value. Then they build software that interfaces with that blockchain, and set up banks to use this network so that they can transact more easily between each other. If you're aware of this, are you interested in trying to keep the true nature of XRP from others?

What are these banks transacting between each other? Where does that money come from? Who creates that money? Regardless of whether it is converted to, or from XRP, the true nature of their transactions is that of debt. Banks are likely seeking to make debt permanent, and immutable. Is that worth some short-term gains? Do we want to give them any assistance with that plan?

I understand the technology will be useful, but who is it useful for? It's like buying Exxon stock; you know it's bad, should you still do it? You should certainly seek to take your money, your time, your well wishes, whatever, away from causes, corporations, and governments you don't agree with. They feed off of apathy, and inattentiveness. The devil is always in the details, and we always agree to the terms of service.

I fear one day those living in private cities will have the highest standard of living, and will be completely sequestered from life on the outside. These corporations will revert back to the "company store" model, and will own their employees lives, will educate their children, and will be a one-stop shop for the human worker-bee experience. I guess at that point the planet will be in such a poor state people will be begging to be taken care of...
