Nimiq!? Wha...Where did you come from?! Make $700.00USD instantly right now? Maybe? Probably not? DEFINITELY not.

Nimiq (ticker: NET) is a new crypto. They had their ICO on June 28th, and you may have seen them on Market Cap hanging out between #150 and #100. They provide a completely in-browser 3rd generation cross-chain compatible platform on which to trade currencies and assets instantly (off-chain) and with minuscule transaction fees.

The thing is...their shares just spiked. And when I say spiked...They rose 130,000% in an hour. Yeah, you read that right. One hundred and thirty THOUSAND percent, from $0.73USD to over $740.00USD. They created Seven Billion Dollars out of thin air.

At least...it looked like they did for a second. Then the entire CoinMarketCap website crashed.

N...Nimiq? You there?

Did something go wrong? Is this a mistake? Because...ohp. Now it's back. Still says Nimiq is at $740.

So, be QUICK, not sure if this is a real thing so don't blame me if it's not but if you go to nimiq.com you can download a wallet and get a free Nimiq token (currently worth over 700 bucks.) I've got one. I have no idea who I'd even sell it to.

Their service (from what I've seen of it in the last 10 minutes) looks really great. I don't know that I'd value the company at $7,000,000,000 (by which I mean no one in their right mind would) but they might really be going places.

I guess, since I have no real information here, I'll just assume Nimiq is going to crash hard. I'll hold onto my token, though. Might be worth something someday.

This has been really really weird.

Stay safe, Steemians. It's a jungle out there.

UPDATE: Nimiq (NET) is trading at a non-insane price (1NET/.007ETH at time of posting) onHitBTC. This was a very bizarre occurance that I'm sure we'll hear about tomorrow, but it was clearly only a fluke. Jeesh.

23:10 EST--UPDATE: As of this moment, the incorrect price of $1477/NET is still Live on CoinMarketCap (up 310,000%)

00:00 EST -- Update: All quotes are back down to Earth, madness subsided.
