Leak of data and passwords for Poloniex platform clients

Poloniex crypto trading platform revealed customer data leaked yesterday via its Twitter account.

The platform asked users to reset the password to protect their accounts from penetration and theft of their digital currencies, according to the e-mail of the platform.

And the e-mail published yesterday stated: “There is someone who posted a list of e-mail addresses and passwords of the platform's clients on Twitter and claimed that it can be used to log into their accounts on the Poloniex platform.”

However, the platform stated that a number of the email addresses that were published were not associated in any way with the Poloniex platform, but had asked the platform users to reset the password.

The platform stated that it had immediately sent an email to all affected clients and in order to protect them, the password was again requested.

It should be noted that the Poloniex platform recently facilitated the procedures of “know your customer” or what is known as KYC, and it made it possible to withdraw up to $ 10,000 without verifying personal identity, after it stopped its services for American users last October.
