Various governments around the world are planning to use Blockchain technology in their quest to create a national identification system in their jurisdictions. The need to create such a system is due to the different risks in current systems such as identity theft.

Countries that will use the Distributed Book Technology (DLT)
Several countries use this technology to create their own national identification systems. Among these countries is Singapore. The country is working on creating a system that will have advanced features for different types of civilian accounts. The system is called SingPass.

Meanwhile, Estonia is another country that successfully uses the same technology to create an identical system called ID-karts. Among the advantages of the system are significantly reduced bureaucracy and great satisfaction of citizens from government transactions.

In addition, Illinois is launching an identification system based on Blockchain technology. The state is in partnership with the company "Evernym".

The Benefits of Identity Systems Based on Distributed Book Technology

There are several expected benefits of using this technology to create an identity system. These include easier data management for individual owners than large companies, and the owner's right to "sell" their data.
