22.08.19 : The Triptych

One of the major reasons I got into acrylic pouring to begin with was so I could have original, customised art in our new house.

Prints are great and all but I wanted originals. Not only originals but ones that were appropriate with each feng shui section.

A month ago, when I poured this 👇 for the master bedroom (in the Knowledge & Spirituality area ~ Blues, Greens and Blacks) I envisioned a matching triptych above the bed.

Since then I changed my pouring medium recipe and haven't been 100% happy with any of work with most of my pours going through several scrapes and tons of paint before I was somewhat satisfied with the result.

So I'm not sure what came over me when I decided to bite the bullet and just go for it, splashing paint on all nilly willy like.....

But I did it and I did it first go. No scrapes! 🥳

Here they are the next day, all dry.

I was in total shock that I was happy with it first go. I still am actually and it's now Saturday 🤣.

Took me a month to work up the courage to do it and I'm glad something came over me that I jumped straight in so quickly self doubt didn't have time to weave it's way into my psyche.

There's so many choice 👌👌 bits in each canvas that draw my eye but my favourite canvas has to be the one on the right.

The blues and greens on that one is so vivid and the lacing and cells are more pronounced and intricate.

There's little hints of copper, gold and purple in there too. I wish they came through a bit more but overall I'm happy with what's there.

What do you guys think?

Is the composition too busy for a bedroom or does the blue/green give enough of a calming effect to make it suitable for the bedroom?
