Aydın'da devam ettiğimiz yolumuz, Efes'in 100 kilometre kadar uzağındaydı. Priene bilinenlere göre aslında bir İyon şehri ve çok zekice olduğunu düşündüğüm şekilde meşhur [Menderes](https://tr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Menderes) nehrinin 10 kilometre kadar kuzeyine kurulmuş. Su kaynağına uzaklığı hiç de kötü değil. Özellikle de o zamanlarda denizin ve nehirlerin şu anda bildiklerimizden daha geniş ve büyük olduğunu düşününce aslında bu mesafenin 10 km olmadığını tahmin etmek çok da zor değil.
