Para nadie es un secreto que los muñecos a veces resultan estar poseídos por entidades malignas y en ocasiones resultan ser peligrosas, MELINDA fue una muñeca que marco nuestra infancia desde el primer día en que llego a nuestro hogar, era Navidad del año 1996 cuando recibimos nuestros regalos y uno destacaba por encima de los demás y era esta hermosa muñeca de ojos azules, cabello castaño largo, tenía la altura de aproximadamente un metro. Mis hermanas y primas jugaban con muñecas pequeñas mientras sentían ansiosamente como las observaban, buscaron alrededor de la habitación y no había nadie más que Melinda, con la mirada fija en dirección a donde ellas se encontraban, con mucho cuidado mi hermana mayor movió la cabeza de la muñeca con la intención de que no diera su vista a donde jugaba con mis primas, acto seguido continuaron con su juego cuando de pronto una vez más Melinda las observaba, como era de esperar todas se asustaron y salieron corriendo, menos mi hermana quien nunca le tuvo temor. Días después y sin que nadie lo supiera mi segunda hermana estaba en la cocina y sintió que alguien estaba detrás de ella, pero al girar miro directamente hacia nuestra habitación y allí sin aviso previo estaba de pie la muñeca, está solo se escondió detrás de la puerta, por el miedo que tenía mis padres decidieron sacarla de la habitación y llevarla al armario de mi abuela, que en aquel entonces tenía todo bajo llaves, las primeras noches se escucharon golpes desde adentro, golpes que siguieron durante toda las semanas que estuvo allí. *** My sisters and cousins were playing with small dolls while they anxiously felt how they were being watched, they looked around the room and there was no one but Melinda, with her eyes fixed in the direction of where they were, very carefully my older sister moved the doll's head with the intention of not giving her sight to where she was playing with my cousins, then they continued with their game when suddenly once again Melinda was watching them, as expected they all got scared and ran away, except my sister who was never afraid of her. Con el pasar de los días, siguieron los sonidos extraños en el armario, fue cuando mi hermana mayor tomo la decisión de sacarla y darle una oportunidad, en su inocencia pensaba que ella solo quería jugar, de alguna manera nos hizo tener valor y perder el miedo para acercarnos a Melinda, como siempre jugamos con todos nuestros juguetes, pero en un momento una de mis primas decidió tomar a la muñeca y en medio del juego la golpeo y le dijo que era una niña mala, después de en rato mis primas se fueron y pasaron meses para que ellas volvieran a nuestra casa, pues esa misma noche mi prima callo presa de enormes pesadillas con la muñeca, ella se despertaba asustada porque Melinda en sus sueños la perseguía para golpearla porque ella era una niña mala, hasta el día de hoy muchos años después tiene pesadillas con ella y siempre resultan ser más terroríficas y tenebrosas que la última, pero no sería la única en experimentar este terror con Melinda. *** As the days went by, the strange sounds in the closet continued, that's when my older sister decided to take her out and give her a chance, in her innocence she thought she just wanted to play, somehow she made us have courage and lose our fear to approach Melinda, as always we played with all our toys, but at one point one of my cousins decided to take the doll and in the middle of the game she hit her and told her that she was a bad girl, After a while my cousins left and it took months for them to return to our house, because that same night my cousin fell prey to huge nightmares with the doll, she woke up scared because Melinda in her dreams was chasing her to hit her because she was a bad girl, until today many years later she has nightmares with her and they are always more terrifying and scary than the last one, but she would not be the only one to experience this terror with Melinda.

Un día mientras mis hermanas y yo nos encontrábamos en el colegio, llego visita a nuestro hogar era una señora con dos niñas cercanas a la familia, ella llevó a sus hijas para que jugaran con nosotras, pero al no estar en casa mi mamá las atendió, mi madre hasta ese punto no había hecho caso a los eventos con la muñeca, pero esa tarde sucedió algo inexplicable para ella, mientras hablaba con la señora la niña más pequeña se fue al cuarto de juego, ahí estaban todos los juguetes incluida la hermosa muñeca, de pronto en medio del silencio se escuchó el grito acompañado del llanto de la niña, tanto la mamá de la pequeña como mi mamá corrieron para asegurarse de que sucedía, fue entonces cuando la niña contó: la muñeca me pego y me dijo que no jugaría conmigo porque era fea, efectivamente su brazo estaba marcado como si recién lo hubieran golpeado, cabe destacar que no había nadie más en casa y que nadie sabía de estos sucesos. Los eventos fueron en aumento varias personas sin ninguna razón preguntaban por la muñeca, había una chica que siempre pasaba por el frente de la casa y era pretenciosa, pero de un día a otro tenía pánico con solo mirar hacia allá, solo sucedía cuando Melinda estaba ahí, no supimos qué le paso, pero nadie nos quita la idea que la muñeca tuvo algo que ver, Melinda vivió con nosotras muchos años y en todo ese tiempo no dejo de ser aterradora, la dejábamos en un lugar y amanecía en otro, la veíamos moverse, a veces como sus ojos se movían como si parpadeara, al ser ya adolescentes dejamos de jugar con ella y la dejamos a un lado, un día la sacamos de la casa al patio trasero con otras cosas, pero esa misma noche la tierra se la trago, resulto que el piso se fue abajo justo dónde ella se encontraba y allí quedo enterrada Melinda. Pero la historia inicio mucho antes, pues mi papá aquella Navidad del 1996 compro dos muñecas grandes, a Melinda y la otra era una Melinda vestida de novia, pero de cabello rubio, se aseguró de envolverlas y guardarlas en un lugar seguro hasta la noche de Navidad sin que nadie supiera, para su sorpresa cuando fue a buscar a las muñecas solo estaba una y la otra desapareció, solo estaba la caja envuelta, pero vacía, no había manera que alguien se la hubiese llevado, pues él las escondió muy bien en el depósito de su trabajo, también era el último en salir y las cámaras de seguridad no captaron absolutamente nada. But the story started much earlier, because that Christmas of 1996 my dad bought two big dolls from Melinda and the other one was a Melinda dressed as a bride, but with blonde hair, he made sure to wrap them and keep them in a safe place until Christmas night without anyone knowing, To his surprise when he went to look for the dolls only one was there and the other disappeared, only the box was wrapped, but empty, there was no way that someone had taken them, because he hid them very well in the warehouse of his work, he was also the last one to leave and the security cameras did not capture absolutely nothing. A mystery that was never solved.
