Hello, travelers of the @worldmappin community! Today I have the pleasure of inviting you on a little everyday journey around Ciego de Ávila, in the area called "Vista Alegre." During this walk, I'll show you various centers, streets, structures, and the progress of the route in motion, from my dad's motorcycle all the way back to my home. ¡Hola, viajeros de la comunidad @worldmappin! Hoy tengo el placer de invitarlos a un pequeño viaje cotidiano en los alrededores de Ciego de Ávila, en la zona llamada "Vista Alegre". Durante este paseo, les mostraré varios centros, calles, estructuras y el avances del recorrido en movimiento, desde la moto de mi papá hasta llegar nuevamente a mi hogar. Espero que les guste el paisaje panorámico y que disfruten cada uno de estos diseños urbanos y rurales. ¡Acompáñame en este maravilloso recorrido!

To start the journey, let me tell you that nothing was planned. It was a very boring Sunday, with little movement on the streets and no electricity at home. Perfect for going out on an excursion hehe. So we decided to get ready, get dressed, and go for a ride through the Vista Alegre neighborhood east of the city. Normally we go buy some energy drink to cool off from the summer heat, but this time we wanted to break the routine of staying home on the weekend.

Para comenzar la travesía, les cuento que nada estaba previsto. Era un domingo muy aburrido, con poco movimiento en la calle y sin electricidad en el hogar. Perfecto para salir de excursión jjj. Así que decidimos prepararnos, vestirnos e ir a dar un paseo por el reparto Vista Alegre al Este de la ciudad. Normalmente vamos a comprar alguna bebida energética para refrescar el calor del verano, pero esta vez quisimos salir de la rutina de quedarnos en casa el fin de semana.

These first images take me straight back to my childhood. It was on these first two streets of the route where everything happened: we played ball, soccer, flew kites, and shared a thousand children's games that filled us with joy. We were immensely happy with so little. The sky, completely blue, was adorned with large white clouds that foretold another typical Cuban hot day. The first stretches of the neighborhood are quiet streets that invite you to walk without rushing, to enjoy every corner, and to pause at every small detail that awakens memories.

Estas primeras imágenes me transportan directamente a mi infancia. Fue en estas dos calles iniciales del recorrido donde todo sucedía: jugábamos a la pelota, al fútbol, elevábamos papalotes y compartíamos mil juegos de niños que nos llenaban de alegría. Éramos inmensamente felices con tan poco. El cielo, completamente azul, se adornaba con grandes nubes blancas que presagiaban otro día típico de calor cubano. Los primeros metros del barrio son calles tranquilas que invitan a caminar sin prisas, a disfrutar cada esquina y a detenerse en cada pequeño detalle que despierta recuerdos.

My dad's motorcycle is a Jawa 350 with a sidecar, which broke the afternoon silence as we set off toward the neighborhood. It's not just an adventurous or observant trip, but moments that feel important without needing to be explained. We rode all the way down Máximo Gómez street, as you can see there are several colonial and old buildings, a quiet day as Sundays tend to be. The sidecar vibrated gently against the uneven asphalt, and I had to rest my hand on the metal edge, feeling every imperfection of the road as part of the ride.

El motor de mi papá es una Jawa 350 con sidecar, que rompió el silencio de la tarde mientras arrancábamos rumbo al reparto. No es solo un viaje aventurero o observador, sino momentos que se sienten importantes sin necesidad de explicarlos. Atravesamos toda la calle Máximo Gómez, como pueden apreciar existen varias edificaciones coloniales y antiguas, un día tranquilo como es de ser los domingo. El sidecar me vibraba levemente sobre el asfalto irregular, y tuve que apoyar la mano en el borde metálico, sintiendo cada imperfección del camino como parte del paseo.

Don't think taking photos while moving is easy, hehe. Many came out blurry or off-angle, but I tried to pick the best ones to present in this post. On both sides, there are plenty of homes and various structures one after another—that's how daily life in Ciego de Ávila feels, far from the hustle and bustle of big cities. As you can see, it's an environment with very little economic development, but with good people who want to get ahead.

No crean que hacer fotografías en tránsito es fácil jjj. Siempre quedaban muchas corridas o fuera de ángulos, pero trate de escoger las mejores para presentar el post. A los laterales es abundante los hogares y estructuras diferentes continúas, así se siente la vida diaria de Ciego de Ávila, lejos del bullicio de las grandes ciudades. Como se observa es un ambiente de muy poco desarrollo económico, pero con buena gente, que desea salir adelante.

In the heart of the area, flanked by two residential buildings of 9 stories and great architectural value, stands Máximo Gómez Park. Its lush trees provide shade, while the statue of the independence military leader watches over the passing visitors, with benches that invite you to sit and observe the slow-paced rhythm of the surroundings. It's those small spaces that encourage you to stop, rest, and above all, listen to the heartbeat of the Avilanian people.

En el corazón de la zona, flanqueado por dos edificios poblacionales de 9 plantas y gran valor arquitectónico, se levanta el parque Máximo Gómez. Sus frondosos árboles brindan sombra, mientras la estatua del militar independentista vigila el paso de los visitantes, con bancos que invitan a sentarse y observar el ritmo pausado del entorno. Son esos pequeños espacios los que animan a detenerse, descansar y, sobre todo, escuchar el latir avileño de un pueblo.

Further ahead, we passed by the square named Camilo Cienfuegos, designed for revolutionary events on the island, such as marches, festivals, and political rallies, well-maintained with its green gardens. In almost all the places you'll see around this area, if you pay attention, there are many royal palms, some planted and others heritage trees, since in case you didn't know, it's a national symbol of Cuba.

Mas adelante pasamos por la plaza nombrada Camilo Cienfuegos diseñada para eventos revolucionarios de la isla, como marchas, festivales y actos políticos, bien conservada con sus jardines verdes. En casi todos los lugares que verán por esta parte, si se fijan hay muchas palmas reales, muchas sembradas y otras patrimonios, ya que si no lo sabían es un atributo nacional de Cuba.

We continued our route, observing buildings with traditional architecture, balconies that still preserve their charm, and streets that hold memories of several generations. Every detail speaks to the identity of Vista Alegre, a place where history and simplicity coexist in perfect harmony. I enjoy going out on these trips with my dad; sometimes he would point out hidden things, so I'd have more content for the Hive community.

Seguimos nuestro recorrido observando edificios con arquitectura tradicional, balcones que aún conservan su encanto y calles que guardan recuerdos de varias generaciones. Cada detalle habla de la identidad de Vista Alegre, un lugar donde la historia y la sencillez conviven en perfecta armonía. Me gusta salir con papá a estas travesías, aveces señalaba cosas ocultas, para que tuviera más contenido para la comunidad de hive.

After several kilometers of journey, we entered the Flower Avenue, an extensive park, where right at the entrance stands the baseball stadium, the sporting emblem of the town. The facility not only hosts the passionate games of the Cuban National Series, but also features a bar, cafeteria, press room, radio and TV broadcast booths, and meeting rooms. Everything designed so that baseball is experienced with intensity, from the field to the last seat.

Tras varios kilómetros de travesía entramos a la avenida de las flores un extenso parque, donde justo a la entrada, se alza el estadio de béisbol, emblema deportivo de la localidad. La instalación no solo alberga los apasionados partidos de la Serie Nacional Cubana, sino que cuenta con bar, cafetería, sala de prensa, cabinas de transmisión de radio y televisión, y salones para reuniones. Todo pensado para que la pelota se viva con intensidad, desde el terreno hasta el último asiento.

In the distance we saw a bicycle taxi with the French flag moving slowly, as if it too were enjoying the ride or tired of pedaling. My dad slowed down a bit, not out of necessity, but because no one was in a hurry and he wanted me to capture the moment through my lens. As we passed by, the man greeted us and we exchanged a few words like "The sun is scorching and the heat is unbearable."

Vimos a lo lejos un bicitaxi con la bandera de Francia avanzando despacio, como si también estuviera disfrutando el tránsito o casado de dar pedales. Mi papá reduce un poco la velocidad, no por necesidad, sino porque nadie tiene prisa y quería que captara el momento en mi lente. Al pasar, el hombre nos saludo y intercambiamos algunas palabras como 'Esta Caliente el Sol y el calor es insoportable'.

Además, queda la satisfacción de haber contemplado no solo calles y edificios, sino también la esencia del reparto Vista Alegre desde la moto, una manera sencilla, pero auténtica, de conocer una parte importante de Ciego de Ávila y apreciar la belleza de su entorno urbano.
