#cocoons

With our local calendar showing warm weather ahead, I removed my solitary bee cocoons from the refrigerator and placed them on trays outside. For the next few weeks they will thaw out and become active,

At first when I split open one of the bee boards I was worried they would not survive long. But to my surprise they continued to eat the pollen ball in their cell and then started spinning their cocoons.
