백운동 별서와 소쇄원에는 차이가 있다. 사람의 손이 얼마나 갔느냐 하는 것이다. 소쇄원은 집안으로 자연을 끌어 들였다. 바람과 물이 지나가는 길도 그대로 놔두었다. 집과 산의 경계로 별로 없다. 오히려 사람과 사람이 머무는 공간을 구분했을 뿐이다. 주변의 자연과 집을 구분하려 하지 않았다. 백운동 별서는 소쇄원과 차이가 있다. 주변의 자연환경을 최대한 살려서

백운동 별서는 산사가 아닌데 산사 편에 글을 쓰게 되었다. 자꾸 범주를 바꾸는 것도 그렇고 해서 그냥 여기에 쓴다. 여행기라고 하는 것이 좋을 것 같기도 하다. 사실 굳이 산사만 다니려고 한 것은 아니기 때문이다. 그냥 오래된 옛것에 대한 정취를 느끼기 위한 여행을 한 것인데 하다보니 주로 절 주변을 다니게 된 것 뿐이다. 백운동 별서는 크게 특별한 것은 없는
