Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety is a 2018 Indian Hindi comedy film directed by Luv Ranjan.[3][4] Ranjan also produced the film with Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, and Ankur Garg. This marks the fourth collaboration between Ranjan and the lead actors Kartik Aaryan and Nushrat Bharucha and third collaboration of Sunny Singh and Ishita Raj Sharma with the trio. The film released theatrically on 23 February 2018.[5][6] The film received mixed reviews; while most commentators praised the humour, some of them were critical of the misogynistic plot.[7] It emerged as a commercial success.[8][1]

The movie begins with Titu (Sunny Singh) crying because his girlfriend has stopped talking to him. Sonu (Kartik Aaryan), his best friend tells him that she is not the right one for him as he trusts her with everything, even the keys for the cash counter of his sweet shop, but Pihu (Ishita Raj Sharma) wants to break up simply because he opened Tinder on her phone which she shouldn't even have in the first place. Sonu gives an ultimatum to Titu to choose between Pihu and him and Titu chooses his best friend.

Six months after his break-up, Titu's family tells him that a family has shown interest in getting him married to their daughter. He agrees to meet Sweety (Nushrat Bharucha). The two instantly hit it off, Sweety is extremely caring, sensitive and is the 'ideal wife'. Sonu finds this very fishy, though he admits to Titu that she seems nice but he can't really say whether or not the two should marry just yet.
