A few days ago i posted my daughter's Moana Birthday Bash.
Here, we were invited to a Captain America themed costume birthday party!
As mentioned on my previous post, I couldn't afford to buy pre-made store costumes and now I would be needing 4 since I have 2 nephews & 1 for myself too!
It would be awkward for the kids to go without wearing one and the parents were encouraged to also wear costumes since there will be a contest. Who wouldn't want a prize? So,
I thought of a costume character that's:
- Easy to make
- Low budget
- Part of the Justice League(bday boy is Capt. A)
- Has sidekicks if possible for cohesiveness and
Ding! Ding! Ding! Light bulb moment!💡
Batman checked out all four.
What are needed:
*black shirt / leotards
*black pants / leggings
*black sleeveless
*red shirt
*black boots
*foam paper
*paint
*black masking tape
*double sided tape
*headband (cat ears)
Swish-swish, cut-cut, tape-tape and here are the end results.
Batboy, Batgirl, Robin and Catwoman were ready to party!
Since black boots were needed and again we can't buy, we used black tape to put on our colored boots!
Remember to line it with paper first so the tape wouldn't stick to the boots and can easily be removed.
The kids were really happy with how the costumes came out and happier when we won first prize!
I was the happiest to see them enjoying and having so much fun. And of course be able to provide for them what they needed without spending much.
