Oxford-AstraZeneca coronavirus vaccine 5 million doses are coming to the country today. The vaccine is coming through Beximco Pharma as per the agreement made with the Serum Institute of India. The special flight from India will start at 8 am with the vaccine. It will reach Dhaka at 11:30 pm. The vaccine will be taken from the airport to Beximco Ware House in Tongi. Beximco Managing Director Nazmul Hasan Papon MP said this at a press conference last night. He said the vaccine would be delivered to 64 districts of the country on time as per the instructions of the health department after lab tests after its arrival in the country.
Mentioning that Bangladesh is also getting the vaccine at the same price as the Indian government, Papun said that according to the agreement, Bangladesh is getting the vaccine at the lowest price.
The Indian government is now taking the vaccine for three dollars. Bangladesh may also get this price. Although the contract mentions four dollars. Besides, if India takes more than four dollars, Bangladesh will not have to pay more. The agreement says so. He said Beximco would not receive any commission from the serum. Beximco is vaccinating the government. Will take commission from the government. However, it cannot be said that Beximco is benefiting from the vaccine. Because there can be damage. Because according to the agreement, the government has to explain three crore dose of vaccine. The government will pay the price of these three crores. But Beximco will take responsibility for any vaccines that are lost or canceled.
At the press conference, Papon said there were not many side effects of the Oxford vaccine. There is no information that anyone went to the hospital after the vaccination. However, since the government is providing free vaccines, the government will take responsibility for any side effects. There is government management for this.
