Today i am going to write about my Country and her Heroes. Before i start i want to write a poem in Bengali.
*আমার ভাইয়ের রক্তে রাঙানো একুশে ফেব্রুয়ারি
আমি কি ভুলিতে পারি।*
Every year we go to Shaheed Minar by singing this song in 21st February. We honor the language martyrs with flowers there. On this day, the swelling of the flowers in the Shaheed Minar.
Reminds us how much our mother's language is to us. To protect the dignity of this language, the heroes of Bengal were killed on the streets. Shaheed Minar was built to protect their memory.
It started in 1952 when it was announced from Pakistan that Urdu would be Pakistan's one-language and state language. In protest, the student crossed all the obstacles and proceeded with the procession in front. When they came in front of Dhaka Medical College, the police opened fire on them. In this incident our children of Bengal dedicated their lives to martyrdom.
The Shaheed Minar's Minar and its pillars are now in front of the Dhaka Medical College as a symbol of Motherland and Mother Language. Children of Bengal have established the right to speak in Bengali language in exchange of their lives. So today we can freely say our mother tongue.
Shaheed Minar is not just a monument, it is our motto of inspiration. This Shaheed Minar has brought us language movement and motivation. So we were able to win the war. The children of Bengal's soil left their own lives and wrote the name of Bangladesh in the whole world.
So today 21st February has the status of International Mother Language Day. The whole world is remembered with respect. I feel so much proud that I was born in such a country where such damn boys have that kind of guts for the welfare of the country. A grand salute to all of them. May Allah bless them.
