I am always reluctant to bring Hitler into any conversation which doesn't actually involve fascism/national socialism, but I must ask; do you really see no parallels between the encouraging of snitching on one's neighbors today with past totalitarian governments' encouraging neighbors to snitch on each other?
Are you really that unaware of the dark nature of this urge of some people who want to rat out their fellows and see them punished for not adhering to the narrow decrees of dictators? Are you really that unsympathetic to people who vigilantly guard their liberties and common sense against government power which history has shown ceaselessly draws power to itself and increasingly becomes corrupt and wasteful in the use of that power?
Are you totally unaware of the tremendous uptick in complaints against neighbors and the out-of-control ticketing of people for doing things that in no way endanger anyone?
Some people think every power grab by government is a good thing. Every social and economic problem can be solved in their eyes by giving more power and money to government to force us to do as it wishes.
