OVERVIEW

Gbegiri soup is a local Yoruba (Western Part of Nigeria) soup. It is one of the most popular traditional soups in this part of Nigeria.

MAJOR INGREDIENTS

  • Salt
  • ‎Pepper
  • ‎Onion
  • Water
  • ‎Beans
  • ‎Palm Oil
  • Seasoning (Magi Seasoning Cube and others as deemed fit)
  • Potash

PREPARATION PROCEDURE

  1. Soak beans in a bowl of water for about 30minutes.
  2. ‎Wash out the chaff and pour it into a pot.
  3. With a short, strong, neat broom, mash till soft.
  4. Add seasoning, onions, palm oil and pepper and steam for about 20mintues.
  5. ‎Add salt to taste.
  6. Put down and serve.
