OVERVIEW
Gbegiri soup is a local Yoruba (Western Part of Nigeria) soup. It is one of the most popular traditional soups in this part of Nigeria.
MAJOR INGREDIENTS
- Salt
- Pepper
- Onion
- Water
- Beans
- Palm Oil
- Seasoning (Magi Seasoning Cube and others as deemed fit)
- Potash
PREPARATION PROCEDURE
- Soak beans in a bowl of water for about 30minutes.
- Wash out the chaff and pour it into a pot.
- With a short, strong, neat broom, mash till soft.
- Add seasoning, onions, palm oil and pepper and steam for about 20mintues.
- Add salt to taste.
- Put down and serve.
