The limerick is a very special type of humorous poem comprising of:
The 1st, 2nd and 5th lines must be 7-10 syllables and rhyme with the same rhythm.
The 3rd and 4th lines must be 5-7 syllables and rhyme with each other and again have the same rhythm.
A good example is this one by Edward Lear who was famous for his nonsense poems:
“There was an Old Man with a beard
Who said, 'It is just as I feared!
Two Owls and a Hen,
Four Larks and a Wren,
Have all built their nests in my beard!’”
For this contest, I'm looking for:
An original limerick, which is humorous and fulfills the writing rules as outlined above.
It needs to be rated PG-13 at the most, so keep it relatively clean, please!
Winner gets 1 SBD plus 50% of the proceeds of this post.
2nd place gets .5 SBD plus 25% of the proceeds of this post.
