Steem Around the World Challenge – 5 SBD Contest for Deciding on a Strategy

Dear fellow Steemians interested in Steeming Around the World with me: This Contest is for You!

Right now I'm assuming you are all familiar with the Steem Around the World Challenge. If you're not, please scroll down, where I repeated a summary of the idea, and take a look at previous posts for further details.

Our most recent member wanting to join the challenge, @nature-sauvage, has gotten busy creating some spectacularly beautiful feather earrings, specifically for this challenge! What's more important, she has written a post about it, tagged it with #steemaroundtheworld so the reward it accumulates can be used for this challenge. She even got informed on the costs of sending these lovely items to the places mentioned on our list of participants. Given the light weight of the jewelry, and the funds raised so far, we may actually be getting close to starting. Now the question is: which way should we go? Let's see what you all think, and why not turn it into a challenge?

How to Participate:

  • Write a post proposing a strategy on how we can start linking the existing members. In other words, put the participants in the order in which you think would be best to send our items around the world. If your name is not on the list, but you'd like to be, please include yourself, by all means!
  •  Explain the reason why you chose this particular order.
  •  Take everything into consideration, such as the nature of the items to be shipped, their weight, size, distance to travel, and what costs may be associated with them. Also, think about what borders / oceans need to be crossed, any possible problems that might raise, and how you could circumvent them. Use all information you have available, from the listed posts, as well as other sources. Otherwise you are also encouraged to make educated guesses, but please indicate it.
  •  Tag your post with #steemaroundtheworld. This also means that I will put the rewards it earns onto the list of funds to pay for the shipping of one of the legs of this challenge. Effectively the money stays in your account until we get around to using it, in which case you'll be asked to transfer it to the person whose turn it is to send their item.
  •  Add a comment to this post, with a link to your article. This is important for deciding on the winner.
  •  Deadline is Monday, October 16th at noon CDT (UTC-5).

How You Can Win the 5 SBD:

  • All posts that have met the requirements will be linked in the comments of this post. One week after the deadline (that is exactly on Monday, October 23rd at noon CDT) the author of the comment with the most votes will be declared winner.
  • Please note, it's not the post itself, but the comment whose vote counts. Also, I will count the number of votes, not the accumulated value. So it may be a good idea to tell potential voters to visit this post, and vote for your comment to help you win.
  • I am going to count each steemian who voted once or twice only! Everyone who voted for three or more comments will not be counted.
  • Anyone can vote, people who have submitted posts, as well as those who haven't. I think it's natural to vote for yourself, so please don't hesitate to give yourself the support you deserve. For your second vote pick your favorite competition, or skip it all together if you want.
  • The minimum number of articles is three. If less than three posts have been submitted by the deadline, the contest will be canceled, the 5 SBD reserved for some later time, though your post will be read, appreciated, and used for deciding the strategy on moving further.

Good Luck to Everyone, I'm Looking Forward to Some Interesting Proposals!

Now, For Those Who Are New, Here's a Recap:

Steemians around the world who like to create things deepen  their connections by sending their products to each other as gifts, in a  pay-it-forward fashion. The goal is to create a chain spanning the  world, so the first participant sending something will receive something  from the last one. The details of how to link the people  together will be decided together, in form of posts, comments, and  replies, here in Steemit. The shipping fees will be covered from the  rewards payed out to these articles, as well as others posted  specifically for this purpose by every participant, and transferred to  the one whose turn it is to send the next item.

Please feel free to read through the previous posts, where this  project is explained in greater detail (and much repetitiveness). Though  there is always a chance you might come across some forgotten idea, so  it's worth giving them  glance:

              Post 1     Post 2     Post 3     Post 4     Post 5     Post 6     Post 7     Post 8

Where are We in Terms of Funds and People?

Here's a list of everyone who said they may be interested in participating, as well as the bits of money accumulated so far. (Note: steemd seems to be down at the moment, so I couldn't check the exact reward for the most recent posts. Stay tuned for updates!)
