I have no idea what's going on - that towel from South Park
Hi.
I'm @edumurphy and I have no idea what I am doing. Two months ago, I was out of money and heartily sick of ponzi schemes and MLMs and matrixes. I stumbled across mention of Steemit in an ESUT WhatsApp group. Next thing I knew, I was in a group with the people who would eventually become @madmaxfury, @voski and @ememovic. It was a bit like being sucked into a wormhole.
Two months later and Steemit is my internet. When I browse, it's to find out stuff for a Steemit post. When I go on Instagram, it's to look at cool pics that might look good in a Steemit post.
Things are getting weird in a good way as I find myself in community after community, swept along in a deluge of fun and seriousness. Serious fun. Because hell yeah we like the money!
Yet the community, the we're-all-this-together camaradrie, is like nothing I have ever felt online. The likes of @misterakpan and @dante31 and @discordiant and @ajremy the teen with steam for Steem ... they've made this place more than just a side gig. They've made it a true online home for people from my part of the world and I couldn't love them any more for it.
... I have failed at so many things. In that vein, Steemit feels like ... like coming home. It is the place my entire life has been preparing me for (my encyclopediac knowledge of Hollywood action movies and 90s-to-mid-00s-video-games, the hopeless internet addiction, the reading Frederick-Forsyth's-Dogs-of-War and the entire Christian Bible in primary 3 (or maybe it was 4? ðŸ’)
HAVE I MENTIONED THAT ONE DAY WHEN I AM A WHALE THAT I WILL MAKE THE NOPICTURES TAG HAPPEN? BECAUSE YEAH, I'M GOING TO DO THAT.
I said once that Steemit is the best way of turning literacy into lucre that currently exists. You apply mind to matter and money falls out. Of course, without heart and soul, it won't be a lot of money.
More importantly, no one will care -- unless you do. Until you do.
This has been a cynically rambling yet hopefully yearning entry for @surpassinggoogle's Steemit's Untalented Contest. Still don't know what it's about but I like it, I like him and I especially like @greenrun so I'm winging it like a mofo anyway

Did you learn anything from this? My battery's on 13% and I am like 3/4 asleep right now so Idunno how coherent any of ... all that was. Steemit is a place without lies which means it must therefore be a place of forgiveness. So forgive these trespasses against good writing and common sense; we know not what we don't do.
