The dining room view now….
Our signature oak tree has filled the addition with leaves. I debated going out and sweeping them up, and all the nails and trash. But I figured the 3PM wind would come up and it would not look like I’d done anything….

But after laying down and resting for a while, I wandered out and started sweeping. Sure enough, the 3PM wind came up and the bedroom is full of leaves.

He went out early on Tuesday morning and got the truckload of bagged dry leaves. Just as he arrived back at the farm, the truck with his lumber delivery was unloading. So he set about putting up the 55 boards he’d gotten for ceiling joists. He finished the kitchen and dining room first.

Then he finished off the living room, except where the masonry heater was going to go.

The builder for the masonry heater came out mid afternoon to let my husband know exactly which ceiling joists he had to leave out. It looks like we won’t get the heater built until spring. We will have to figure out another way to heat the addition through the winter so we can work on it.

He had gotten most of this section’s joists up by the time the builder showed up.
He even remembered to leave the stairwell open this time.

He put up 51 of the 55 boards for joists today. He wanted to finish off the few that are left and start putting up rafters on Wednesday but it is supposed to rain all day.
