Today in the SPL (4/2/18): Freerolls, Updates, and More from the Steem Poker League

Hello Steemians and SPL Poker Players!

This is the first ever edition of the “Today in the SPL.” As always, posts from the SPL support the league, and we need your support more than ever to keep bringing you the only poker site on the Steem blockchain, and in my opinion, the best poker on any blockchain.

We will be publishing these daily updates to showcase what’s going on around the league, list the daily freerolls we’re hosting, and give shoutouts to players and sponsors, so please read each day, share with your network, and show some love with an upvote.

Updates, News, and Notes

• The SPL needs your help. Today, the SPL published an update explaining that the league needs your support in order to move forward. It details some of the challenges we’ve faced and the questions we need to come together as a community to answer. Please read the post here, and comment with your ideas. There will be more information shortly.

• Yesterday was a big day in the SPL with a 100 SBD tournament on Easter Fools Day. Congratulations to @Guyfawkes40 for taking down the field of over 100 players! I finished 49th, but still took home 0.4 chips. The tournament was made possible by @berniesanders! Thank you!

• March Player of the Month is Hoodish! That’s right, I won the Player of the Month trophy and a 3 Chip prize. You can all expect my acceptance speech shortly.

• Team tournaments are back! Starting 4/8, your team of three poker players can compete against the rest of the SPL. Join our Discord channel for additional information and to register your team.

Today’s Freerolls

The 1:00 PM CDT 5 SBD Freeroll is currently underway, but there is more poker action coming at you later this afternoon and tonight. Upcoming tournaments today include @celsius100 sponsored 1-table freerolls:

• 2:00 CDT: .10 SBD Pot Limit Omaha Ho-Lo (10 Players Max)
• 6:00 CDT: .10 SBD No Limit Omaha Hi-Lo (10 Players Max)
• 10:00 CDT: .10 SBD No Limit Hold’em (10 Players Max)
  If you’ve already won some chips in the SPL, you can play in Sit & Go tournaments, cash games, and other scheduled tournaments.

You MUST do the following:
• have a reputation over 35
• have a valid introduction post
• be a current, active Steemian
• come to our Discord Channel and get to know the other players! It can help your pending-to-active transition if you have an established @spl member vouch for you!
• register on lucksacks.com, the official home of the SPL
