Enjoy What You Do & You Will Be Successful On Steemit

Do you often wonder why although you keep at it you don't see the results that you dreamed of before coming here?

When you enjoy what you do, work becomes play - Martin Yan.

Martin Yan's famous cooking shows are so popular because he puts his soul into them. He wouldn't have been such a huge success if he did not enjoy what he does.

If you are a regular at Steemit you are bound to have come across complaints of how it's not working for them here. They might be posting every single day - more than once - getting followers and making comments. They spend hours going through posts, making comment after comment and yet they're not getting anywhere.

Progress

Progress is slow at Steemit, especially if you do not have that whalepower to thrust you forward. Alternatively, the backing of a whale who upvotes all you posts. It is a rare situation and better not hope for it because if you think that the odd whale vote is going to be consistent, you are wrong in your assumption.

But the most important thing is - are you liking what you do?

I don't think that question will get an affirmative answer in most cases. Don't fool yourself by saying that you like posting, commenting and interacting on Steemit and its associated platforms like Steemit Chat and Discord rooms, if you don't. Most users of Steemit come here only to make money and would skip the social part altogether if they had a choice. Of course you may be one of the exceptions.

Facebook

Do you know the single most reason why Facebook users will not stick around on Steemit for a long time? On FB they are talking to friends they already have in real life, and those who get connected to them are either new friends in real life or friends of friends.

You will be able to achieve success on Steemit only if you like what you are doing. If you don't like what you do here now is the right time to think about your options and choose one that you like doing. They say that if you love what you do you don't work a day in your life. It is 100% true for Steemit. Work on Steemit may be blogging or commenting but if you hate it you will not reach your goals.

Blogging

There are successful bloggers on Steemit who may not have blogged ever in their life but now have blog posts readers and followers as soon as they hit publish. They like what they are creating whether it is a travel post of a tutorial showing how to do something. Providing value is where it's at for most successful people on Steemit.

Enjoying what you do will make you post often on increase you chances of success. In most cases, inconsistency can be linked to a lack of interest. What is the point of continuing to do something that does not interest you, just for the sake of earning a few cents? Instead do something that you truly enjoy and the money will follow.

Enjoy what you do and celebrate small successes.

Here's what I wrote in one of my previous posts about small successes:

I recently completed my first month on Steemit and created a post about it. In it, I focused on my small successes. Something is always better than nothing, especially if you are a newcomer, compared to those who joined Steemit in 2016 or early 2017 who are established. If you have 20 followers, 30 upvotes on your posts and a rising rep after your first week, it is reason to feel happy about. It shows that things that you are doing are working.

By forcing yourself to look for small victories you prime your mind to stop focusing on the negative and your awareness about the positive aspects increases.

Publishing Consistently

If you really enjoy it, it will not seem like hard work to publish regularly. Even if you have a day job or other responsibilities that take up your time you will spare time to do something that you like.

Being consistent on Steemit will ensure success, and more people will follow you.

Conclusion

To conclude, by making sure that you enjoy blogging and social interaction - the way it is done on Steemit - you will not feel that you are "working" and your time will be taken up doing something that you like. There is nothing like achieving success while enjoying at the same time.
