CommentWealth Week 1 Update

CommentWealth has been up and running for one week now, and we can report some good things!

First, we'd like to say thank you for the SP delegations CommentWealth received from @geke, @lexiconical, @jimitations, and @daoine-sidhe. Our total SP currently sits at 3,500. Thanks to this infusion of Steem Power, CommentWealth is able to help move valid comments up above the spam... that is, when we encounter them. Right now this is all human-powered, and eventually we'd like to "delegate" some of this work out to a CommentWealth bot. But first we'd need to know that such a bot will be safely obeying Asimov's three laws. 🤖🤖🤖

CommentWealth has also developed several comment scripts for responding to comment spam:

CommentWealth trolls for trolls and spams the spammers... please be aware @----- that consistent spam comments like yours might eventually result in flags, which hurt your reputation and earning potential. Next time, read the post before commenting, and engage with the author in a way that builds true community here on Steemit!

Linking to your own posts in another Steemian's comment thread is really bad form. Next time, try engaging with the author in a way that builds true community here on Steemit!

Over the last week we've used the above scripts 27 times and we're proud to report that, as a result, we've received one apology and one downvote. Guess that all evens out. 😊

Our curation rewards are just starting to roll in now that our first week is in the bag, and as we suspected, comment curation tends to be more lucrative than post curation, especially for minnows like us. Keep that in mind when curating your own comments!

Once we grow past minnow and even dolphin status, we'll begin flagging spam, but as we're still minnows ourselves, that activity will have to wait a while.

Please let us know your thoughts on our Steemit service in... the comments! After all, that's where community happens.

What is CommentWealth? Read our Introduction post to learn more about us and what we do. And don't forget to check out our Minnow's Guide to Comment Curation, with lots of useful information to help minnows develop a loyal following on Steemit, all through managing their comment threads.
