Hulk In War As Maestro

Just purchased "Maestro: World War M" #4, which is a whole new extension on the life of the Hulk. It appears that in the very far future, the Hulk was one of the few survivors of a nuclear apocalypse. Going under the name of Maestro, the Hulk intends on ruling over all survivors. If anyone, human or superhuman, is to challenge his rule, they will surely be put to death. However, some of the challengers are not easy to kill.

Rick Jones, who is a longtime associate of Bruce Banner, has even questioned the Hulk's role and survival instincts in this time of rebuilding. Doctor Doom has assembled the Abomination, Namor and the Human Torch to come together to try and destroy the Maestro. Namor, whom is still reeling over the death of his wife and son, entices Giganto to join in the battle. Some people around Namor are not too fond of how he is destroying the city in the process of taking down the Maestro.

All of the death and destruction allows the Maestro to form a very satisfying allegiance with one who began as his enemy. Doctor Doom has even come to be at odds with Namor. I am sure that Namor's tactics are fueled by vengeance! The killing on both sides have been senseless. Therefore, who is the lesser of the two evils. There isn't a great pool of people to pick from during this apocalypse. Killing a good majority of them will only make matters worse.

The original cover where the Maestro is preparing to spear the eye of Giganto was drawn by Carlos Pacheco, Rafael Fonteriz and Jesus Aburtov. Germán Peralta was the artist who drew magnificently all of the great action on the enclosed pages. Jesus Aburtov added the color. Peter David wrote this story pitting hero against hero. After all, what do you expect when the story involves the Hulk?
