Beginning The Century Game

Jackson Lansing and Collin Kelly bring us a Captain America who is returning to his roots. He returns to the East Side of Manhattan to rent out the apartment where he grew up. With Sam Wilson using the flag for his own agenda, Steve Rogers wants to jog his own brain as to what it feels like to live in this country. Steve Rogers walks out into the community to be out among his neighbors and the other residents. Fire Hydrants are opened up to cool the residents down. He allows kids to handle his shield, because he believes that the shield belongs to everyone.
Steve Rogers is even taking an art class at a community college. He stays in contact with an intelligence team that helps him keep tabs on the world in which he lives. New York City's Fourth of July celebration is about to break down into something other than a celebration. Never mind the fireworks, because they are meant to mask the much more heavy duty explosives. Bucky Barnes arrives for backup!
Someone is spotted in The Destroyer's costume. He can't obviously be the same super soldier that originally wore this costume? Fighting with the same cockiness as a superhero, the faux Destroyer is finally taken down, But he isn't the real problem, is he? This is only the beginning of a true dangerous game of Checkers!
Carmen Carnero and and Nolan Woodard bring the script to life with their graphic artistry in Captain America: Sentinel of Liberty #1. It took me awhile to read this book after purchasing it, but I am glad that I finally got around to this interesting arc of the Captain America story.
