Also known as the 'Tower of Death'

My epic overland road trip took me past some of the incredible architecture of Uzbekistan. In this country the intricate beauty of Persian and Arabic architecture is really showcased, with detailed mosaics on every surface and complex geometric structures. The Kalyan Minaret is in Bukhara; it is known as the Tower of Death because legend has it that criminals were thrown to their death from this tower for centuries... eek!
