Cassie is the first in her family to attend university. She has completed 4 semesters towards her degree, twice earning a place on the Dean's List and then the President's List. Her drive and dedication to her education is a testament to her character.
Cassie grew up in the definition of a boken home. Divorced parents before her second birthday, she watched each parent struggle with addiction and by the time she was in high school they had both been incarcerated.
She lived with relatives during high school and joined the show choir and the drama department.
Upon graduation, she already had a dream to attend Texas Woman's University. She never forgot her early years and the hardships she came from. Her dream is to be a Social Worker in the hopes she can give back and be able to help children with backgrounds like hers..
She has to fund her education herself, and had been able to secure loans and grants her freshman and sophmore year.
She has secured partial funding for the fall but she needs help.
