RAB arrests Imran H Sarker ahead of rally

The Rapid Action Battalion or RAB has captured Ganajagaran Mancha representative Imran H Sarker in front of an arranged rally against extrajudicial killings in Bangladesh.

Imran was kept from Shahbagh in Dhaka on Wednesday evening, said RAB representative Mufti Mahmud Khan.

"He was captured on charges of sorting out an illicit social event. There are more charges against him. We are investigating the issue."

Reazul Alam Bhuiyan, one of the challenge coordinators, told bdnews24.com that Imran touched base before the National Museum at Shahbagh at 4pm to join the booked program.

"When he got down from his auto, RAB individuals lifted him up," he said.

"We don't have the foggiest idea about his whereabouts."

Police ceased a rally anticipated Monday and said Ganajagaran Mancha had no consent to hold the dissent program.

Imran at that point reported another arrangement to hold the exhibition at 4pm on Jun 6 at a similar setting in the wake of meeting all customs.
