SeaWatch: This Berlin-based organization was created by Harald Höppner. This entrepreneur, who is approaching 50, owns two stores selling « ethnic » and « colonial-style » (sic) products under his Guru-Shop brand. Born in the former GDR, it was this membership that, according to his statements to the press, predestined him to be sensitive to the refugee issue. He regularly compares the Berlin Wall which separated west from east to the Mediterranean which separates north from south. This comparison is regularly taken up by the NGO’s communication.
