Could you please take your time to read through my article about fake prophets.
I took my time to write on this because God's Word said in 1 John 4:1(NIV) : Dear friend, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirit to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.
In the world we live today, there are many false prophets deceiving people, if a true believer is not observant enough, he might also be deceived. I remember the incident that happened where I live, during a big crusade program organized by one controversial prophet, as the crusade was going on, heavily armed robbers invaded the arena. The next thing we saw was both cripple, blind that came for miracle began running for their lives, after the armed robbers invasion, we asked the blind how he could run, even the cripple how he stood up to run, after much interrogation by the police, they confessed that they were paid to pretend to be blind and cripple. Some people have asked how they can distinguish between false prophets and true prophets or minister of God. Well, its very easy to know a true minister of God. Firstly, a true prophet of God draws people to God the Father and to His Word, not to himself or some other gods.
Secondly, he walks in love. 1 John 4:8 says, "He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love."
In addition, there has to be a consistency of God's Word in his mouth, he not just speaks the Word, he does the word and proved the word in his own life.
1 John 2:26-27. The Holy Spirit will speak to you. A believer must know God's word for himself.
• A false prophet is always after money for himself not the work of God.
