There are two notable women mentioned in the lineage of King David and Jesus on the long run. Ruth the moabite, and Rahab the harlot who became saved by faith using the red scarlet as a symbolism of blood of Jesus and her house hold became engrafted into God's eternal plan.

Prophets in the old testament were sent to
Gentiles as in Jonah to Nineveh,
Queen Sheba and people from other nations came to hear wisdom of Solomon and the dexterity of his kingdom, all these were deliberate actions from God to reveal His glory to the heathen.
Even during the period of captivity, God was still saying something. That was when God showed His glory through the likes of they three Hebrew boys and Daniel. God wanted to engraft the gentile into His eternal plan starting d process with the Jew.
In all these, the Jews of old could not understand God's plan thereby they failed to carry out the plan of God in proclaiming His glory.
