A Desire to Obey

Obedience is one of the hardest attitudes to live by. But somehow we pursue to obey even if we don't want to. That is what we call sacrifice.

Obedience is one word that describes a true Christian. If you want to become a true Christian, you need to have these four legs to be able to stand: obedience, power, blessing and joy. You cannot acquire power, blessing and joy if you do not know how to obey. So obedience comes first.

One key distinction between a true Christian and some who merely professes to be a Christian is a heartfelt desire to obey God.
Can you identify the goat from a sheep? In the same manner, we can also identify true Christians from those who are claiming to be Christians but doing the opposite. For true Christians, obedience is a sweet, hopeful and encouraging word.

So if you desire to obey God, put it first in your understanding and down to meditation and work it with passion and application and you can find out the fulfillment of your desire.

You don't need to sacrifice, you just have to obey. Remember what happened to King Saul?

Saul was rejected as king because he failed to utterly destroy the
Amalekites, instead choosing to keep the best of the best for himself
and to sacrifice to God. But God didn't want his sacrifice, he wanted
obedience.
