Suzuki Jimny after twenty years, replaced by a new model

Suzuki introduces the new Jimny, a compact all-terrain vehicle that stays true to its roots.

The Suzuki Jimny has a successor. The small off-road vehicle is being replaced by a new model that has to be able to go off the asphalt again.

The new Jimny is available with the petrol engines of the Suzuki Swift and Baleno. These are a 1.2-liter four-cylinder and a 1.0-liter power source with a turbo.

After twenty years of loyal service, the current Jimny generation can retire. Against the spirit of the times, Suzuki steers away from the popular SUV concept, the new generation also remains an unadulterated all-terrain vehicle that combines a ladder chassis with four-wheel drive. The angular bodywork also fits better with the adventurous outdoors than with the fashionable city center.

For the time being, Suzuki keeps up with some footage from the new Jimny. The specifications of the angular signed Jimny are not yet known. Elsewhere in the world, the car will also be available with a 660 cc petrol engine and a 1.5-liter engine. On July 5, Suzuki will reveal new details such as the chosen engine and the different gearbox options.

The previous Jimny had been on the market since 1998. That is why the car is now available for the first time with things like a touchscreen and a navigation system. An automatic gearbox is also possible.
