Skyline rambling day 1: you daily your Skyline??

It's a question I've heard over and over again from incredulous car guys and random people alike. Yes, I daily the Skyline. So many people think that I should lock it in a garage, spending thousands of dollars on it, only to drive it once a week to shows. And yes, I'd love to have a strictly "show car". But that's not what this is to me.

While I do take her to shows, and she has been well received, that's not really why I imported this car. I've always loved JDM, and Skylines are at the top of my list. I had the money and opportunity to buy one, so I did. It's not the sought-after gtr, and it's not even another semi-performance model such as the gtst. It is the non turbo, practical sedan version. I didn't buy it to show off, I bought it so that I could own and drive a car that I've always loved.

Do I want to invest some money in prettying her up? Yes.
Am I interested in building a car that can win trophies? Of course I am, I'm a car guy!
But, this car is, first and foremost, my car. I drive it to work every day, I go out at night just to find a long, winding road to enjoy. The fun of this car isn't all shows and attention - it's about the driving. Having a rhd car when you grew up with and learned to drive in lhd is an experience that isn't likely to lose its fun anytime soon. And, seeing as how it's an old car, it has plenty to teach me as well, as parts go bad one at a time (car enthusiasts everywhere understand the struggle).

So, yes. I daily my Skyline. And I wouldn't have it any other way.
