Volkswagen T Roc Road Test

Recently at a press event, we managed to get behind the wheel of the new VW Crossover, it’s undergone a similar marketing idea to the Lupo, that was Volkswagens tough little baby.

The T Roc is symbolised as a Ram, and it’s recent ads show it burying into various other ads, a rather clever idea.

We were eager to try the new crossover having driven quite a few SUVs and the like over the last few months.

The first thing you notice is the look it’s very Audi edge similar to the Q2, not surprising really.

We had the 1.5 turbo charged petrol engine, pulling 0-62 in 8.4, the engine is very capable and the turbo keeps it very responsive. It has very refined gearbox and the steering is weighted enough for fun, yet light enough for manoeuvres round town.

The handing is very good, you can approach bends like you would in a car and it’ll just grip with very little roll.

There are a few hard plastics in the cabin, the glossy blue trim breaks this up and lightens up the vehicle no end.

In the video you’ll see Ben push the T Roc more and more round the closed circuit, whilst grinning and almost forgetting he’s carrying out a road test.

All in all a great Crossover punchy, responsive and cool with practicality at its heart.
