Not too long ago, Ben had the chance to get up close and personal with one of the protypes, as he got the chance to passenger off road in one. The Mk1 was on tour at the time, as it was being thoroughly tested on lots of different terrains ahead of it's production launch in July 2022.
It's now been announced that the official support vehicle for the BMW Motorrad 2022 GS Trophy this September is the INEOS Grenadier (which makes sense when you consider the fact that under the bonnet is a BMW 3 Litre, 6 cylinder engine!)
The GS Trophy is more than just a competition, it's a week long challenge for owners and riders of BMW GS motorbikes, where they get to off road through some amazing and challenging forests, mountains, valleys and rivers in Albania.
Six Grenadiers will hit the trail in August in order to fully map the route before being joined by another fourteen to act as support during the seven day event. For over 800 miles, all twenty Grenadiers will tackle the same challenges that the GS motorbikes do, whilst supporting the teams with provisions, tech support and other supplies.
INEOS have designed and built the Grenadiers for exactly this kind of terrain, so the partnership is a logical evolution for the brand. It's going to be interesting, that's for sure!
