This last 2 weeks have been hectic, 3 review cars, this rally we just happened to drop in on at our Health club on the banks of Lake Windermere, more about the cars in the coming days.
We turned up the day before the rally in our latest review car the outstanding BMW X5 M Sport, enjoyed a chilled day, then Annabelle heard some guys chatting about how tomorrow there would be milions of pounds worth of cars here tomorrow.
As you would expect this peaked our interest, as we left we saw 4 vintage cars, this compounded what we had heard.
We arrived the next day to a car park full of vintage cars, pretty much all being pre war era.
There was everything from Bentley to MG and everything inbetween, all these cars on the banks of Lake windermere, the question was why?
We chatted to some of the onlookers and drivers, this was the Flying Scotsman car rally, one lady joked " you've got to be a millionaire just to enter". Looking at these cars and the fact Tony Jardine was a figure head on this rally, it was maybe his rally, we searched high and low for him to no avail.
This was the first time the starting point had been here, what an amazing find.
