The man that most of America would like to just go away just won't do it. Twice failed presidential candidate and uber-liberal, masquerading as conservative former Governor of Massachusetts Mitt Romney just won the Utah Senate primary, and says he's all for the Trump agenda, except, of course, when he's not.
I call Romney a carpetbagger because that's what they used to call people like him who move to another state in order to gain some acceptance by that people so that they can gain political office. Romney has done just that by moving from his home in Massachusetts to Utah, following the American people's rejection of him twice for the White House.
Unlike his previous campaigns though, following his move to Utah, he became more outspoken about his Mormonism, which I believe is unbiblical and brings God down to a glorified man and Jesus the Christ as nothing more than a created being, the spirit brother of Lucifer. I won't go into all the problems with Mormonism because that's not what my aim is in this article, but it's interesting that he got very vocal about it when he moved to Utah where there is a huge population of Mormons. That's part of carpetbagging though.
The Salt Lake Tribune reports:
Mitt Romney hardly broke a sweat on his way to capturing the Republican nomination in Utah’s U.S. Senate race, according to unofficial results Tuesday, earning 73 percent of the vote.
Romney’s opponent, state Rep. Mike Kennedy, R-Alpine, drew only about one of four votes counted by Tuesday night. Late-arriving by-mail ballots will continue to be tallied in coming days.
“Well, it looks like our team won the primary,” Romney said to a cheering crowd.
The Associated Press called the election for Romney at 8:24 p.m. and Romney and his wife, Ann, delivered brief remarks at 8:40 p.m.
“We believe that free people make better choices than the government,” Romney said, “And that the state government makes better choices than the federal government.”
Except, of course, when it comes to government health care, then government makes better choices, right?
What's interesting is how President Donald Trump responded to Romney's win. Remember, Trump gave his support to Romney when Romney ran for the White House, but when it came time to support Trump, Romney became his enemy.
Just to remind everyone.

Some will say, "Oh, Trump is just being gracious."
Maybe, maybe not. He has to know that Romney will not be that big a supporter of him, especially after what he penned in an op-ed at The Salt Lake Tribune.
Here's some of the highlights.
One of the questions I am asked frequently on the campaign trail is whether as Senator I will support the Trump agenda. I’ve learned this means different things to different people. That difference, I believe, is a defining choice for Republicans.
On one hand there are those who believe supporting the Trump agenda means supporting every policy the president proposes, whether or not they actually agree with that policy. It means refraining from criticizing anything the president says or does. The argument for this position is that you pick a team, so to speak, and when the leader of the team is criticized, his or her power to act is weakened and the opposition helped. So in order to achieve Republican policy aims, solid Republicans should stand with the president 100 percent, or at least stay silent when in disagreement.
That's nice and all, but what about when the policies are unconstitutional? Oh wait, we remember that Mitt Romney actually is more concerned with how attorneys can get him into the positions he wants rather than understands what the Constitution says. Remember?I take a different course. I will support the president’s policies when I believe they are in the best interest of Utah and the nation. I have noted, the first year of his administration has exceeded my expectations; he made our corporate tax code globally competitive, worked to reduce unnecessary regulations and restored multiple use on Utah public land. In addition, I am pleased that he backed away from imposing a 35 percent tariff on all foreign goods.
Romney is against Trump's withdrawal from the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) and opposes broad-based tariffs. However, he also added, "I have and will continue to speak out when the president says or does something which is divisive, racist, sexist, anti-immigrant, dishonest or destructive to democratic institutions."
Right, like Romney has never said anything that would be divisive, dishonest or destructive before. Wait, yes, he has, and I collected videos from before he ran for the White House to demonstrate some of the destructive things he said and supported, but many conservatives believed the lies he was selling.
So, buckle up America, it looks like Mitt Romney is just one step away from being in our everyday politics... again.
