Carbon cycle
Carbon and oxygen are two elements that are essential to life. They are naturally present in the atmosphere in the form of carbon dioxide and oxygen gases. They constantly circulate between the environment and living organisms in a cyclic way. When plants prepare food in photosynthesis they take in carbon from the atmosphere in the form of carbon dioxide. In this process they also release oxygen gas to the atmosphere.

کاربن اور آکسیجن دو عناصر ہیں جو زندگی کے لیے ضروری ہیں۔ یہ قدرتی طور پر کاربن ڈائی آکسائیڈ اور آکسیجن گیسوں کی شکل میں فضا میں موجود ہوتے ہیں۔ وہ ماحول اور جانداروں کے درمیان چکراتی انداز میں گردش کرتے رہتے ہیں۔ جب پودے فتوسنتھیس میں خوراک تیار کرتے ہیں تو وہ کاربن ڈائی آکسائیڈ کی شکل میں فضا سے کاربن لیتے ہیں۔ اس عمل میں وہ فضا میں آکسیجن گیس بھی چھوڑتے ہیں۔

Oxygen cycle
All animals and plants respire to get energy. During respiration they take in oxygen from the atmosphere and release carbon dioxide to atmosphere. Similarly, during decomposition and combustion and biomass (matter of dead bodies) the oxygen gas present in atmosphere is used and the carbon of biomass is released into the atmosphere in the form of carbon dioxide.

تمام جانور اور پودے توانائی حاصل کرنے کے لیے سانس لیتے ہیں۔ سانس کے دوران وہ فضا سے آکسیجن لیتے ہیں اور کاربن ڈائی آکسائیڈ کو فضا میں چھوڑتے ہیں۔ اسی طرح سڑن اور دہن اور بائیو ماس (مردہ لاشوں کا مادہ) کے دوران فضا میں موجود آکسیجن گیس استعمال ہوتی ہے اور بائیو ماس کا کاربن کاربن ڈائی آکسائیڈ کی صورت میں فضا میں خارج ہوتا ہے۔
