CANAIMA 25 years of sustainable development with its small 800 kW Hydroelectric Power Plant (PCH)

pch canaima ingles.jpgBuilt by the former EDELCA in and commissioned in 1994. Providing electrical service in that isolated area was the initial challenge and the current challenge is to improve it to continue the service in that tourist area.
Here some technical data of said PCH
Located on the left bank of the Carrao River, Salto El Hacha, Municipality Gran Sabana, Edo. Bolivar,
• Fall: 25 m Flow: 3.5 m3 / s per turbine Turbine Type: Banki Year Start Operations: 1994
• Installed Capacity: 2 Units of 400 kW each. Not synchronized. }
• Population Served: 2000 inhabitants

During the years 2006 to 2012, I face the great challenge of Managing the Project of Improvements and Increase of Capacity of the 7 SMALL CENTRALS that CORPOELEC operates (maintains EDELCA). CANAIMA, its landscapes and its people deserve attention and this gift of nature continues to be taken care of by the CANAIMA NATIONAL PARK.
